Headteacher Coaching

Transform Your Leadership, Transform Your Life

The Happy at School Project Headteacher Coaching is specifically designed for dedicated and driven headteachers juggling educational outcomes, staff and pupil mental health and well-being, SEND provision, parental expectations, external pressures and work-life balance.

You excel at what you do but want to manage the stresses of the role better and become an even more effective leader. You also want to focus on what really matters at school and at home, to be more present and make the biggest impact.

Investing in yourself means investing in every pupil in your school. You will gain greater self-awareness, improve relationships with staff, pupils and parents, handle tricky conversations more effectively, manage your time with increased focus and clarity and ultimately improve the life outcomes of your whole school community. You set the tone, so taking the time to pause, reflect and understand your blind spots and triggers means you will make better decisions.

Through coaching I can also share insights into how other people tick, provide solutions for dealing with interpersonal and performance related problems, share easy-to-use coaching tools and help you address issues faster and more effectively than ever before. These insights work for any professional or personal situation or relationship, as I coach the whole person. After all, it is the human who leads.

"Life changing. Working with Christina has made me a better leader, person, son, father and husband. I have had a lot of coaching over the years but I can honestly state that Christina is the best I have worked with. She links together the whole person and helps you to connect all of the different aspects of your life and makes you realise that the personal and professional cannot be separated. I am a lot more aware of my triggers and this helps me to make better decisions. The most powerful aspect I have found is accepting who you are - we are all flawed, but all we can do is be the best version of ourselves. A number of other staff in my school have also worked with Christina and they all say the same thing. If you are tentative about using a coach or are considering different providers, I would wholeheartedly recommend working with Christina - she is amazing."

"I have worked with Christina over a period of 12 sessions and in that time she has supported me to carve out a new pathway in my brain and heart that I never thought was available to me. With a demanding and responsible job that can be stressful and three children, I have taught myself to permit myself joy again. So bogged down in my responsibilities I tended to assume that joy was a luxury reserved for others and I now find it in little pockets in small spaces within my busy day. By doing this I feed my ‘way of being’ and therefore am better placed to help others as my own oxygen mask is in place. Christina helps you to revisit and review the ‘story’ you tell yourself about your life and that self-reflection can be hard but is also heals and empowers. This coaching is the real deal, doing it, being it, living and breathing it – it’s not just a tick in the box, it’s very genuine coaching that provides transformational change."

"Christina and I had the most fabulous coaching sessions during which I felt I unlocked many of my own self-created barriers to further success. As a prominent school leader and peripheral member of the British Army, I wanted to unlock my potential in its entirety. I knew that sometimes that involves unlocking the subconscious and working out what triggers us. As someone who has overcome much adversity through self-help, self-talk and self-reflection, I felt ready to go through some work with a trusted professional. Trust has been a huge issue for me my entire life and this was where Christina was different. I trusted her immediately and her personal and professional qualities facilitated immediate positive transformational impact on me. Christina is FAB - her sessions flew by! Thank you Christina for holding up a mirror to me and helping me evolve!"

"I am one of the most resilient people I know and my glass is mostly half full... but, having taken a new role, I felt I had somewhat lost my way! Little did I know that I would find a guiding light in Christina. Our paths crossed at a conference and I have never looked back. Christina skilfully drew back layers with careful questioning, probing understanding and then encouraged me to answer the questions that had been raised. This allowed me to reflect and find the right way forward. And that’s why I say ‘a guiding light’... Christina has led me from some dark times and allowed me to illuminate a clear way forward. I feel that I have a clear way forward and know that I am the power behind my own destination. I owe a debt of gratitude to Christina and would highly recommend her services."

About Me

Hi, I’m Christina, founder of The Happy at School Project (THASP). I wear many hats: mum of two boys, former teacher of 25 years, educational consultant and certified life coach. My passion for making homes happier stems from my own bumpy start in life. As a teacher and mum, I was fascinated by how we could build a child’s identity, self-esteem and self belief to fully reach their potential, while immunising them against serious mental health issues. This led me to positive psychology, neuroscience, personal development, coaching and neurodiversity research.

I created a positivity and mindset programme for staff, pupils, parents and carers at my school. Its success led to speaking at conferences, teaching universities and training other schools in the UK and abroad. During this time, I trained as a life coach and discovered my talent for coaching children, teens, parents and whole school staff. Word spread and I began working with more headteachers. Empowering key influencers, their parents, teachers and caregivers, is crucial because their words and responses have such power. By being the best versions of ourselves, we can better support and guide children to become their best selves.
